Cut list & field notes

  • King studs — 4 @ full wall height (8')

    Nail kings to the plates first, then mark the header height off the floor.

  • Jack studs — 4 @ 82.5" (door) / to sill (window)

    Jacks carry the header — keep them tight to the kings.

  • Header — 2 @ 35" — Flat 2× on the flat (non-bearing)

    Crown up, spacer sandwiched, nailed from both faces.

  • Cripples — 4 @ header to top plate

    Keep them on the same layout as the wall studs.
